The Saturday Night Bluegrass Band ventures forth in the wilds of Rosendale from its comfortable perch in Woodstock, with another in its long string of shows at the Cafe. The band first began playing the club over a decade ago, and has looked forward to its appearances here once or twice a year.
After the passing this past year of its beloved banjo legend Bill Keith, the band has been performing with the great Eric Weissberg in the five-string chair. He joins with Brian Hollander on guitar, dobro and vocals; Tim Kapeluck on mandolin and vocals; Geoff Harden on bass and vocals; and the amazing Guy ‘Fooch’ Fischetti on fiddle and pedal steel guitar.
The incredibly sweet voice of Francine Hollander will also be featured in her special guest appearance.
The band features, as befits its name, some straight ahead bluegrass favorites, some ragtime, blues, pop tunes, fiddle tunes, sweet three and four part country harmonies, old faves and anything else it can wrap around and through its collective brain.
