The Blue Ribbon Boys are six whippersnappers vamping through high-energy western and swing music. The eclectic 5-peice, genre-jumping band is comprised of members from the Bluegrass band Jim and Jennie and the Pinetops, The Hunger Mountain Boys, Chops, Sauerkraut and the Velvet Frog, and the Big Iron Skillet Band. The BRBs started out as a bluegrass band and quickly found themselves swinging… to Western Swing from the 30s, old jazz standards, Hot Club influenced. They play dancehalls, weddings and bar rooms.
They are not all boys however, as Julia Gottlieb is the main vocalist with the group.
