$10.00 with lesson, $5.00 for just dancing
The Rosendale Cafe is excited to offer a continuing series of Latin dance events on a number of Thursday nights, each starting with an all-levels lesson from 7:30pm to 8:30pm, and dancing until 10:30pm.
Dance forms include Salsa, Mambo, Merengue, Cha Cha, and Bachata.
Ken Daley will be the guest instructor for this April and May. Ken started studying ballroom dancing in 2004 with the United Nations Staff Recreation Council Ballroom Dance Club in Manhattan; and with Joe Maraday (Strictly Ballroom Studio, New Windsor), assisting instructors in classes from 2006 to 2011. He has studied with Linda Rowland (Hudson Valley Ballroom Dance Teachers College, Kingston). He completed, with honors, the Ballroom Dance Teachers College courses in “American Style Bronze Level Salsa” and Bronze Level “Night Club 2 Step.”” Ken has taught dance classes in Salsa, Night Club 2 Step, and Bachata at Gold’s Gym in LaGrange, at the Rosendale Cafe, at the Warwick Valley Community Center, and at the Poughkeepsie Tennis Club. He also completed the 10 hour training from “Rhythm Break Cares,” teaching ballroom and partner dancing to people suffering from debilitating diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Ken has assisted with Rhythm Break Cares sessions. In September he completed the “bodyGROOVE experience” facilitator training and is currently giving bodyGROOVE classes. Also a martial artist and student of percussion instruments, Ken says, “The joy of movement through dance is a journey to improved health.”
