Rosendale Theatre 60th Anniversary Celebration

February 22, 2009
2:00 PM

Admission:
$15.00

The townsfolk, businesses and theatre are hosting a gala celebration commemorating six decades of our town’s very own single screen, family owned theater… with movies, testimonials, food, and fun.

This is all happening at the Rosendale Theatre itself, located at 408 Main St a couple blocks east of the Cafe. The event is wholeheartedly supported by the Rosendale Cafe, which is one of many area restaurants donating food to the event.

Schedule includes:

  • A screening of a special documentary about the theatre.
  • An open-mike testimonial time for audience attendees to tell about their personal experiences with the theatre, and how it played a part in their lives, the town. Perhaps we’ll even hear a “first date at the movies” story!
  • Food, drink, desserts, coffee… and lots of memories and camaraderie shared by everyone who the Cacchio family’s theatre has touched over the past 60 years.

This is a pinnacle event to prepare for that night’s Academy Awards!

Special back-in-time screening There will be a presentation of the first movie ever shown at the Rosendale Theatre, Blood on the Moon, the 1948 western starring Robert Mitchum and Barbara Bel Geddes. Info about the movie is available here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0040175/
