An opening reception from 2:00pm-4:00pm, for artist Pat Kelly’s show of paintings, displaying in the Cafe during the month of March 2017.
Pat Kelly’s love of drawing began at an early age, with an equal love of horses. Both of these interests have led to fulfilling careers as an artist and a professional horsewoman.
She began her formal studies at the Art Students League in New York, and continued at the League’s summer classes in Woodstock, which later became The Woodstock School of Art. It was here that she studied with many of their excellent instructors, over the years.
Pat’s artistic abilities enabled her to execute over 300 commissions of animal portraits and sporting art. She also illustrated numerous publications, as well as a horse care book, which she wrote based on her hands-on experiences with horses.
Over time she has expanded her subject matter to include figures in contemporary situations, Plein Aire, landscapes, and seascapes. Her favorite mediums are pastel and oil. She is a member of Woodstock Artist Association and Museum, The Art Society of Kingston, and The Pastel Society of America.
