An opening reception from 2:00pm-4:00pm, for Jo-Ellen Bosson’s exhibit of work entitled “Celebrating Color”, displaying in the Cafe during the month of March 2016.
A successful illustrator of children’s books, plus varied educational and advertising art, Jo-Ellen studied at The Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts. Looking for change, she used her bright and whimsical characters and patterns to enter the world of licensing. Now “retired,” she has time to create art for pure pleasure, and to explore many media. Her preferred medium is gouache – an opaque watercolor – but she is also comfortable with pen and ink, colored pencils, and regular watercolor. Recently, she’s been exploring digital art and photography.
Jo-Ellen is the mother of three daughters, “Gramma” to four grandchildren and, about to celebrate fifty years of marriage with her husband. Her other interests are writing (one book published: Fiona’s Song), and playing fiddle and singing (not simultaneously!) traditional Irish Music.
