An opening reception from 3:00pm-5:00pm, for the paintings of Nancy Campbell exhibiting in the Cafe during the month of December.
The exhibit is entitled “La Mia Italia”, from Campbell’s recent work depicting the region of Italy known as Ciociaria. The piece represented in this listing is called “La Via per il Castello”.
Nancy Campbell has been painting the landscape of the upper Hudson Valley for more than 30 years. She finds inspiration in the works of Fairfield Porter, Tom Thomson and the Canadian Group of Seven, and Edward Hopper, as well as contemporary masters Staats Fasoldt and Kate McGloughlin, her colleagues at the Woodstock School of Art, and in the work of Jon Campbell, her son, who lives in Berlin.
From 1998 to 2006, Campbell operated a cooperative art gallery in the Village of Saugerties, the Half Moon Studio. In 2010, Campbell became the Executive Director at the Woodstock School of Art, a not-for-profit school which provides fine art instruction.
