New CD and New Fall Tour. Matt will be touring this fall in support of his new CD entitled Goulash! From Bela Bartok to Led Zeppelin’s Kashmir, Matt traverses the folk musics of his origin, bringing Middle Eastern, Romanian, and Hungarian folk music to the club and theater. In celebration of folk music as art music, Matt will be on the road solo and with various collaborators from the album including DJ Olive from NYC , Romanian violinist Andy Simionescui, Constantinople, a Persian group specializing in middle eastern music, and UCCELLO, an all-cello ensemble comprised of Matt with award-winning student cellists from McGill University in Montreal. Collaborators on the album also include pianist Jean Marchand, and legendary guitarist John McLaughlin.
