The Octopus’s Garden
A collection of underwater photographs, featuring some of the colorful invertebrates that populate the north end of Vancouver Island in British Columbia.
Vancouver Island is one of the top-rated dive spots for diversity, size and abundance of marine creatures, large and small. Arvidson hopes the photographs will draw the attention of biology students, naturalists, artists and customers of the Rosendale Cafe.
A Central Hudson retiree and Rosendale resident, Arvidson graduated from the University of Nebraska with a B.S. degree in zoology, studied marine ecology at the University of Connecticut, and continues to be a student of nature and photography. Arvidson captured the images while assisting David Hall, author of the book Beneath Cold Seas.
