A Rare Duo Performance. Hankus Netsky and Michael Alpert, two of the best-known and most influential figures in the klezmer revival will join forces on October 1 in a rare duo appearance at the Rosendale Cafe. Netsky, the founder and director of the Klezmer Conservatory Band and Alpert, vocalist for Brave Old World, will collaborate
in a performance that will mix taditional and innovative iterpretations of Jewish folk, teatre, and religious music along with lively klezmer instrumentals, original compositions and improvisations.
Hankus Netsky will lecture on Klezmer: Roots and Revival at SUNY New Paltz, Jacobson Tower(1010) at 5:30 PM. Cafe concert at 9:00 PM.
