A combination of talented instrumentation, paired with a flavor of upbeat whimsy… the flavors of Evan & Friends will have you tapping your feet with a smile on your face. They perform a variety of feel-good music ranging from Roots and Americana, to a little Swing, Bluegrass and some acoustic originals. With local musicians like Michael Hunold on guitar, Matt Bowe on mandolin, and Evan Shultis on fiddle… you’re in for a joyful mingling of musical variety.
Evan Shultis started playing fiddle at age 9, and after taking his first lesson with Jay Unger & Molly Mason, developed his music career in Woodstock. Often found sporting a fedora, he is noted as being especially talented at harmony, improvisation and musical variety: ranging from Bluegrass and Old Time, to Celtic, Swing and Americana. Evan enjoys putting a new spin on a song each time he plays it and his musical influences range from the legendary fiddle player Vassar Clemens to the Americana Swing style of The Wiyos. This wide spectrum gives him the inspiration to constantly explore new ways to carry out a tune.
Michael Hunold is a native Woodstock resident, and an extraordinary guitarist/vocalist who has been developing his unique style… fitting seamlessly into many musical genres. He is also a very talented photographer.
Matt Bowe hails from Claverack, and has been passionate about playing guitar and mandolin for over 3 decades.
