Two outstanding family-friendly musicians bring their brilliant tunes to the Cafe, from 3:00pm-4:30pm.
Dean Jones is a familiar name in the Hudson Valley, as the founder of Dog on Fleas, the 14 year-old band that plays music for people under 14 years old. He is also known for his work with the Fighting McKenzies, The Big Sky Ensemble, Uncle Buckle, Sonando, and others… and also as a Grammy Award winning producer. His recent CD “When the World Was New” is a different direction for Mr. Jones, examining the human predicament in all its humorous absurdity. The album is pretty darn modern sounding, but his live renditions will be backwards and minimalist.
Lloyd Miller recorded his first solo CD “S.S. Brooklyn” with Dean at No Parking Studio last summer. Lloyd is perhaps best known as the leader of the Deedle Deedle Dees, a unique Brooklyn educational rock band. He also leads very popular sing-alongs all over New York. “S.S. Brooklyn” is a cozy and community-minded sing-alongy type thing, but with songs about rats, car mechanics, and cicadas.
