The name Banshanachie” means ‘the woman storyteller,’ and in this case the Banshanachie is Sarah Underhill, a Hudson Valley singer and traditional Irish song collector. While often unaccompanied, Sarah also performs songs and sets of traditional Celtic tunes with a group consisting of the versatile instrumentalist Ian Worpole on guitar, mandolin, octave mandolin, and vocals. Other great local Irish guest musicians add to the blend. The music falls somewhere between a session and a performance, and is miked for an appreciative dining audience.
