Experience the internationally honored singer, percussionist, teacher, healer and author, Alessandra Belloni; as she weaves her enchantment with healing chants and drumming in honor of the Black Madonna.
Together with the haunting sounds of master flutist Steve Gorn, she’ll explore the traditions of Southern Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Brazil; and also offer her original compositions.
The evening features authentic chants and prayers of the people who have honored The Black Madonna. They continue in an unbroken and ancient chain of devotion, dating back to the worship of the Earth Mother; as the Goddess Cybele, Isis, Artemis, Demeter.
Alessandra Belloni is an award winning percussionist, singer, and dancer; described by the LA Times as “a force of nature.” She is an artist in residence at the cathedral of St John the Divine, and also tours the world as a teacher, healer, and performs both group and solo concerts in theaters, universities, and international percussion festivals. Ms. Belloni is also a renowned author in her field.
