The dog who lives upstairs, Satchmo, fell off a cliff recently and needed pins in his leg in order to walk again. The surgery costs thousands of dollars. Please help us out!
A Black China was conceived originally as a two piece side project of Johnny Wang (on drums, keyboards and vocals) and Jamal Ruhe (on baritone guitar, guitar and vocals)… hence the name A Black China. After their second show, Matt Grande assumed the singing drummer’s chair, and after a chance run-in with multi-instrumentalist Jesse Towey, the four piece outfit still calling itself A Black China found its present form.
The four members of the band never make an effort to sound startlingly original, but sometimes the ingredients dictate the dish. A Black China only serves up cryptic art-pop songs inhabiting a bizarre post-rock soundscape.
Following the band will be DJ Ali, playing the coolest sounds for dancing.
