I am inspired every time I step outside my front door and encounter nature. My senses are awakened and I arrive in the present moment–aware of my connection with all living things. The works in this show all originate from that experience, be they animal, mineral, or vegetable or even a combination thereof. During this period I have also been investigating movement and have placed my pieces into fluid and direct relationship with air. These pieces are an expression of my inestimable gratitude for the bounty and many gifts of nature.
Felicia Flanagan is a ceramic artist and holds a BA in Visual Arts and a BFA in Ceramics from SUNY New Paltz. This is her fourth exhibit at the Rosendale Cafe, where she has previously shown ceramics, photography, and paintings. Her work has also been exhibited at the Samuel Dorsky Museum at SUNY New Paltz, the Elisa Pritzker Gallery, and the Ram Dass Library at Omega Institute. She has also sold her more functional work at the Unison Arts Craft Fair, Green Cottage, Mohonk Mountain House Gift Shop, and Frozendale. In addition to being an artist, Felicia works with children at Wild Earth, Omega Institute, and Mohonk Mountain House. She is passionate about walking her dog in the forest, singing and playing ukulele with her wife Sarah Urech, performing children’s entertainment as Rainbow the Magical Clown with the Funshine Merrymakers, and being part of an amazing community in Rosendale.
