I’ve always had a fascination with how people communicate at street level. Communication by signage, graffiti and the drop dead funny scrawl.
Humor, joy, sometimes hope and often absurdity formed into a language between strangers.
And a language with a shelf life.
Signage comes and goes, graffiti fades away and the planet keeps spinning which can turn the most witty expression into an irrelevant whatever. Tough to think how much joy and genius is lost this way.
There are other subjects in this show.
But they do seem to fit.
Photos by New Paltz resident Bob Esposito. Mainly expired film on toy cameras. Still.
